Outpatient Clinical Services for Children & Families
Our Approach
SPIN is your partner in helping your child and family develop healthy behaviors, reach its goals and have strong emotional, behavioral, and communication skills that support strong relationships. We are also a city-designated Autism Center for Excellence for more than a decade and specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of children & teens suspected of or diagnosed with Autism.
At SPIN, our team of licensed and credentialed professionals (Board-Certified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Professional Counselors, Therapists, Case Managers, and Family Specialists) are here to help you achieve your own Life of Possibilities.
SPIN participates with many commercial insurance carriers, as well as with Philadelphia managed Medicaid – Community Behavior Health (CBH). Contact us for more information.
Support is provided in a variety of ways that are tailored to your child or family’s needs and may include:
- Assessment: to determine if a child has autism or other neurodevelopmental or behavioral health condition that warrants intervention. From the assessment, a service plan can be developed that will outline services your child & family may need.
- Therapy: to address personal or relationship difficulties that can help each person live their best life. SPIN utilizes the principles of Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) to work with children in the context of their family system to improve everyone’s life. SPIN offers individual, couples, and family therapy, along with group social skills for children & teens with Autism.
- Psychiatry/Medication Management: when therapy and other treatment are not sufficient, the clinician may refer you to SPIN’s board-certified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist for a medication consultation to determine whether medication may be helpful in targeting the areas of distress.
- Family Engagement Services: SPIN offers Case Management, Family Specialist, and Care Coordination services to help your family connect with other services and supports that may be needed. Parent education and support groups are also held on a regular basis.
