SPIN’s Community Center Debuts New Name and Makeover
A Welcoming Atmosphere for Family, Fitness and Fun

PHILADELPHIA (Thursday, June 8, 2017) – After an exciting makeover, SPIN’s Norcom Community Center in Northeast Philadelphia is now SPIN Community & Fitness. The community center at 10980 Norcom Road has unveiled a new name and a newly renovated, fully-equipped fitness center together with a unique environment that is motivating, supportive and welcoming.
“We’re thrilled to share the excitement of our newly revamped community center,” said Kathy Brown-McHale, President and CEO of SPIN. “This has always been a welcoming place where people make friends and break barriers on the road to healthy lives. Our new name unites SPIN’s vision of a world that values and includes everyone with the center’s innovative fitness and recreational programs.”
SPIN Community & Fitness offers a top-flight team of fitness professionals and affordable memberships. The newly renovated center hosts fitness classes, personal training and state of the art gyms for cardio, functional fitness and weight-training. The center is also home to a state-of-the-art Spinning studio and is opening a fitness garage for group training later this year. A mobile app, SPINComFit, makes involvement in fitness activities a breeze with the ability to sign-up for classes, learn about upcoming events and more.
To celebrate the renovations and the new name a Grand Reopening Celebration is open to the public at no charge on Saturday, June 10 from 10am – 2pm. Event guests will partake in mini-fitness classes, raffles, giveaways and meet the center’s exceptional personal trainers and fitness instructors. Guests can also take tours of the facility and explore the arts and educational offerings. Mini-fitness classes and demos will include:
- 10 am Pilates (1 hr)
- 10 am Spinning (30 min)
- 10:30 am Yoga (30 min)
- 11 am Kickboxing (30 min)
- 11:30 am Kettlebell (30 min)
- 12 pm Yoga (30 min)
- 12:30 pm Bootcamp (30 min)
- 1 pm Spinning (30 min)
- 1:30 pm Core & More (30 min)
